German Pension Refund Forms — the Official Downloads, Explained

Every form for a German pension contribution refund is issued by Deutsche Rentenversicherung, free of charge. We link each one to its official DRV page rather than hosting copies — so what you download is always the current version. Below: what each form is for, who needs it, and the version we verified on 26–27 August 2026.

One honest note before you start collecting PDFs: in a managed claim, you rarely touch these forms yourself — we prepare the application and payment documents for you, and you sign. The forms below matter most if you apply on your own, which is free and always possible. If you start solo and get stuck, we can take over a running claim.

The refund application forms

V0901 — Antrag auf Beitragserstattung bei Aufenthalt im Ausland — the refund claim when living outside Germany: the core form for almost every reader of this site. One form number, four language editions (all verified against the official DRV form list on 27 August 2026):

V0900 — Antrag auf Beitragserstattung bei Aufenthalt im Inland (Version 26, Stand 02.03.2026) — the refund claim for applicants still living in Germany (a rarer route with its own conditions). DRV also offers — and recommends — an online application (eAntrag). → Official DRV download — V0900 · DRV eAntrag

V0910 — Erläuterungen zum Antrag bei Aufenthalt im Inland (Stand 02.03.2026) — DRV's own guide to the V0900 claim (German; also orderable in print via the DRV Warenkorb). → Official DRV download — V0910

E5816 — Antrag auf Beitragserstattung für türkische Staatsangehörige bei Aufenthalt im Ausland (deutsch/türkisch) (Stand 10.12.2020) — the dedicated claim for Turkish citizens abroad. The old page's "A5800" number no longer appears in DRV's current list. → Official DRV download — E5816

E5817 — Erläuterungen zu E5816 (deutsch/türkisch) (Stand 01.02.2018 [Q]) — DRV's guide to the Turkish claim form. The old page's "A5801" number no longer appears in DRV's current list. → Official DRV download — E5817

The payment declaration (Zahlungserklärung)

The pension office pays refunds only against a payment declaration for your account.

A1310 — Zahlungserklärung für alle Länder (nicht für Italien) — the payment declaration for every country except Italy (print double-sided). One form number, five language editions (verified against the official DRV form list on 27 August 2026):

A1311 — Zahlungserklärung Italien (deutsch/italienisch) (Stand 02.05.2025) — the Italy edition. → Official DRV download — A1311

R0985 — Angaben zum Zahlungsweg (Stand 01.07.2025) — the form for providing or changing the bank connection for payments. → Official DRV download — R0985

Older payment-declaration numbers — A1312, A1313, A3863 and the language-suffixed A1310sp/A1310gr — have been retired; A1310 in its current language editions replaces them.

In managed claims, we prepare the correct payment declaration for your payout route — this is also where account-holder checks and banking restrictions are handled.

Identity certification — no separate form needed

A refund application must have the applicant's personal data certified. For a self-filed claim, no separate certificate form is needed: the V0901 provides for this on the form itself — page 13 certifies the personal data from the form's first pages, and the accepting bodies are broad (authorities of your country of residence, pension insurance carriers, notaries, banks, hospitals, the Red Cross, and exceptionally German embassies or consulates). In a managed claim, this step is part of what we prepare for you.

Supporting forms you might meet

V0100 — Account clarification (Kontenklärung) (Version 21, Stand 02.03.2026 [Q]) — used when your insurance record has gaps to resolve before a decision. → Official DRV download — V0100

V0800 — Antrag auf Feststellung von Kindererziehungszeiten / Berücksichtigungszeiten wegen Kindererziehung (Stand 29.04.2026) — the application to have child-raising periods established in an insurance record. The office may ask for it when child-raising periods in your record still need to be documented before it can decide. DRV publishes two guides to it — V0810 (Stand 29.04.2026) for the application and V0811 (Stand 26.06.2019) for the supplementary child-raising questionnaire, both also orderable in print via the DRV Warenkorb. → Official DRV download — V0800

Any other questionnaire the office needs in a specific situation — employment history, foreign insurance periods — it sends you directly, with instructions. You never have to hunt those down yourself.

Which office do these forms go to?

Not to a generic address — the responsible pension office depends on your citizenship, residence and insurance history. (Link the which-office article + office finder here when they go live — same activation as the About page's tools paragraph.) In a managed claim, we identify the recommended first office and route the application accordingly.

Rather not do the paperwork?

That's the service: we prepare the application and payment documents, handle the German-language correspondence, and route the claim to the recommended office — start with the free eligibility check. Starting takes less than one minute, and you pay only if your refund succeeds.
